Army Emergency Relief (AER)
Army Emergency Relief provides financial assistance in the
form of no interest loans and/or grants to Active Duty Military
Families whose resources are not sufficient to meet emergency
needs.
Retirees, their Families, widows, and orphans are also
eligible for assistance.
Funds may be given for verifiable emergency situations including
food, emergency travel, vehicle repair, rent (initial rent and
security deposit or eviction), and the prevention of utility
disconnection.
Applications for emergency assistance are
available at the Family and MWR offices located Army Community Service,
Conway Road. If the
applicant is an Active Duty Soldier or Family member, the
application must be approved by the chain of command.
When the applicant has completed the
application and gathered all supporting documentation, he/she must make an
appointment to see a counselor.
