    Child, Youth
& School Services (CYSS)
Fort Drum has many programs and activities offered through Child, Youth,
and School Services. These programs range from
full day, part day, and
hourly
child care, to before and after school programs,
sports, and
activities for middle school and
high school students. Registration for all areas of CYS
Services is
required through the
Central Enrollment Office, Bldg P-10720, Clark Hall,
315-772-8675.

The Army Family Covenant
is a commitment from the Army to enhance mission readiness by
providing additional support to Families especially during
deployments. Army Families who have a Soldier who is deployed, a
member of a Rear Detachment, a Wounded Warrior, a Fallen
Warrior, or on TCS, TDY, PCS (unaccompanied tour) qualify for
special child care options under the AFC.

Children must be registered with the Child, Youth
& School Services
Central Enrollment Registry before participating in
any CYS Services program.
There is no fee to register.
Registration may be completed at the CER office, located in
Clark Hall, Bldg. P-10720.

The
Chapel Drive and Memorial CDC Centers
offer programs for children 6 weeks to Pre-Kindergarten.
Programs include full time and part day care as well as before
and after school care for Kindergarteners. Center
based programs are staffed with qualified trained personnel who
provide a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities for the
children. Both facilities are nationally accredited.

This new facility houses the hourly
and Army Family Covenant Respite Care programs. Reservations can be
made for hourly care by contacting 772-7103. Army Family
Covenant Respite Care Families can make reservations 30 days in
advance for Hourly Care.

A list of Family Child Care
providers located within military housing are available
through the Central Enrollment Registry, 315-772-8675. FCC providers are required to meet Army health and
safety regulations as well as receive regular inspections and
training before becoming certified with CYS Services.

Learn more about the Child, Youth
and School Services and become more involved in the programs and
special events your children participate in. The councils meet
monthly at the individual CYSS programs. Contact the desired
CYSS program for more information about their center-based PAC
meetings.

School Age Services (SAS) offers a supervised comprehensive
program with a variety of options for youth is grades K - 5.
Among the program options available are
Before and/or After School Care, Summer and Vacation Camps, and
Hourly Care. SAS integrates programs such as the Boys & Girls
Club, the 4-H club, and Character Counts into
daily activities. The goal for SAS is to provide safe, flexible
and affordable before and after school child care options for
parents with fun and enriching choices for youth.

The
School Liaison Officer is available to assist military
families with transitions to local schools.
We encourage
parents
to utilize these services as Child, Youth, and School Services is dedicated to maintaining a
positive and productive relationship between our families and
the schools that serve them.

Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration,
Exploration and Skills.
The SKIES Program encompasses
instructional programs for children ages 3 - 18. Programs are
designed for youth to expand their knowledge, be inspired,
explore, and acquire skills. Programs include dance classes,
gymnastics, martial arts, fine arts, music lessons, sports
lessons, and much, much more. The SKIES program classes are housed in the Riva Ridge School Age Services building,
Youth Services, the Memorial CDC and at The Pine Plains Physical
Fitness Center. The SKIES main office is located at Youth
Services, call 772-0629 for
program information.

Youth Services offers recreation,
leisure, developmental programming for
middle and high school youth. Youth Development
programming includes teen workshops, job enrichment, youth
councils, volunteer opportunities, and computer
enrichment. Youth Services partners with national organizations
such as 4-H, Boys and Girls Clubs of America. These partnerships
allow us to offer time tested quality programs for teens.

Youth Sports and Fitness offers youth opportunities to
participate in sports programs as an individual or team member,
as well as fitness opportunities. Sports programs are available
for youth from 3 - 18 years of age. Programs include baseball,
T-ball, football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, cheerleading and
golf.
