Education Complex
Fort Drum offers a variety of Educational services and programs.


The
Army Education Center of Fort Drum serves Soldiers, Family
members, DOD Civilians as well as our neighbors of the North
Country. Programs offered range from Associate degrees to
Master degrees in most fields of study. The Army Education
Center is co-located with the McEwen Library at 4300 Camp Hale Road.

All
Active Duty and Retired Military, Family members age ten and
over, and civilian employees may borrow materials from the
library. National Guard, Reservists, and TDY personnel may use
the library while at Fort Drum.

The library
is a state-of-the-art 18,000 square-foot
facility that includes a multimedia area, a children's library,
periodical area, and an open reading area with 48 computers
linked with the classroom network in the education center.
Patrons have access to periodical databases and an online public
catalog.

The extensive collection includes fiction and nonfiction,
talking books, cassettes, and music CDs and tapes. Materials may
be borrowed for three weeks and renewed twice. With the exception
of movies, there is no limit on the number of materials
that may be checked out.
For your convenience, you can renew materials in
person, over the phone, or by e-mail.

Fort Drum MWR 's School Liaison
Officer is here to assist military families with transitions to
the local schools. We encourage you to utilize her services as
we commit ourselves to a better relationship between school
districts and the Fort Drum community.
Duties of the
School Liaison Officer
-
Establish, implement, and coordinate all school liaison
administrative and operational policies and procedures.
-
Act as primary advisor to the garrison commander and principal
staff on all matters of concern among students, parents and
local school districts.

Act as an advisor on all matters of concern among students,
parents and local school districts.
-
Meet monthly with school principals/ superintendents, guidance
counselors and other staff.
-
Coordinate monthly FDELC meeting.
-
Function as an intermediary and advocate between parents and
school administrators.

Provide assistance, as needed, in school enrollment and
out-processing.
-
Manage the "Piece of the Rock" program in schools.
-
Prepare reports, information papers, fact sheets, briefings and
studies as required.
