The Parks and Recreation facility offers a number of recreational opportunities to the military community.

Plan a day trip to see the broadway show “Mamma Mia” at the Oncenter show “Mamma Mia” at the Oncenter per person including show ticket and transportation. Leave Fort Drum at 11 am, show time is 2 pm, return at approx. 6 pm.

The Gear to Go counter is located in the Parks and Recreation Office, offering a wide variety of recreational and event equipment. Summer items include canoes, tents, bicycles, campers, sleeping bags and more. Winter items include ice-fishing, skiing, and snowboarding packages. In addition to recreational items, special event items are also available. These items include inflatable bouncies and slides, character costumes, popcorn, cotton candy, and Sno-Kone machines. Remington Park is Fort Drum's premier recreational facility offering a variety of activities for individuals and Units alike. Remington Park swim areaThe park is located on the shores of Fort Drum's Remington Pond. The park features six large pavilions, several medium pavilions and picnic tables for smaller groups, volleyball, horseshoes, a large playground, fishing docks, a beach area, a fitness trail, and food concessions. Two lodge facilities are available for rent (day use for special events) through the Fort Drum Commons. The beach offers swimming, paddleboat, canoe, and kayak rentals.

 

Remington Park Sledding



Remington Park is a day use facility. Camping is not permitted. A limited number of hard stand camper sites are available on Fort Drum through the Fort Drum Inn. Please contact the Inn directly at 315-773-7777.

The helpful staff in the travel center can offer information and discounted tickets to a number of local and national attractions. The staff can also make reservations for cruises and vacations with Disney.

The Travel Center also offers a variety of day and weekend trips. Some of the more popular trips include New York City weekend trips, amusement park trips (Six Flags Darien Lake and Water Safari), outlet shopping trips, and sporting event trips (NASCAR races, baseball and football games). All upcoming trips are included in the monthly Preview magazine. The Preview is available as a download.


Parks and Recreation will work with units to plan trips, outings, special events, and special PT programs. Please call 772-6106 for more information.

 

A fenced in play area is located at Remington Park designed to give pets a safe place to run with adult owner/handler. Open daily 6 am - 8 pm.

 


Remington Park Walking Trails

 

Maps of the trails on the north side of the post are available at Parks and Recreation. In the winter, cross-country 'Ski 'n Lunch' meets once a week to ski the trails for fitness. In the summer, these same trails offer a scenic trail for runners, walkers or  mountain bikers.



This life-like golf simulator will keep your swing up to par for the winter months. Practice on the driving range or play 18 holes on world famous courses. The options are limitless including leagues and tournaments.  Please call Parks and Recreation at 315-772-5169 for details.
